May 6, 2025 – The Department of Science and Technology–Agusan del Sur (DOST-Agusan del Sur) has successfully concluded a two-day Design Thinking Training-Workshop aimed at shaping the Smart City Roadmap of Bayugan City, under the Smart and Sustainable Communities Program (SSCP).

Held on May 5–6, 2025, the workshop gathered representatives from the Bayugan City Government, key offices, and various local stakeholders. Through design thinking, participants tackled pressing community issues, evaluated local capacities, and co-developed innovative, citizen-focused strategies aligned with Bayugan City’s smart and sustainable development goals.

The sessions highlighted the six Smart City pillars: Smart Governance, Smart Environment, Smart Economy, Smart Mobility, Smart Living, and Smart People. Collaborative group activities sparked valuable discussions on development gaps and practical, tech-enabled solutions. The inputs generated will directly contribute to the creation of Bayugan City’s Smart City Roadmap.

This initiative underscores DOST’s commitment to equipping LGUs with science, technology, and innovation tools to build resilient, inclusive, and forward-thinking communities.
